Shooting with the sunset is my FAVORITE time to take pictures. As is the MacKay family tradition, when we pick a hobby we align it with the hardest way to do it possible. When we start a project? Pick the hardest pattern and jump right in! Want to plan a trip somewhere MacKay girls? Park schmark. We're going on a road trip at the worst possible time with no money! We MacKay girls shoot for the moon! That being said, I of course had to pick the hardest time of day as my favorite time to take pictures. On the one hand, you've got limited time, color cast problems (I took a lot of yellow outta these photos : ) shadows that hate you and are out to kill you (sunset shadows take it personal, yes they do) possible damage to your eyes (probable in my case) not to mention your subject's eyes, possible damage to your camera sensor, exasperation, frustration, photos that JUST AREN'T LOOKING THE WAY THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO, metering issues....on and on. On the OTHER hand....the payoff is huge : ) Keep on shooting and you'll get some amazing photos! That is why sunset is my favorite. It's like snow, it makes everything beautiful, and its better than snow because its usually not as cold. I'm a little anal about my sunsets, but I hold on to that crazy faith that the peeps who are trusting me will love 'em so I just think. "they'll forgive me later". Here is the last round of Emily and Kurt! Believe me, I have a looooooot more, but I think I'm done for now. Unless I find some more great ones hiding within the dozens (ahem...hundreds...) of the ones that didn't make the cut. I love my boy! And I love this girl.
